NOTE: This registration page is for architecture and design teams only. The fee covers up to 5 active team members and three additional audience tickets. If you would like to attend Pumpkitecture as an audience member, register for the event here. Schedule Pumpkitecture! will take place on Friday, October 28 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. Arrive on time! At 6:15 PM, the witch will cackle and firms will run to pick their pumpkin from the Center’s patch. Carving will commence immediately and run through 7:30 PM. After carving, contestants will have a chance to briefly defend their designs in front of our jurors and audience, after which jurors will deliberate to pick the Pritzkerpumpkin. Additional honorable mentions may be given by the jurors as well. Registration Carving team members must be associated with an architecture or design firm. Carving teams must be made up of 2-5 members. Each firm-sponsored team is also allotted 3 audience tickets. Team members and additional audience members will be checked at the door. Please make sure to create a (spooky) team name when registering. Note that all pumpkin carvers will be required to sign a liability waiver and image release waiver before carving can commence. Materials The Center for Architecture will provide each team with: 1 large pumpkin 1 set of standard pumpkin carving tools 1 electric tea light (use optional) 1 sharpie Paper for sketching Food and beverages We suggest that your team come prepared with a plan and with any additional tools, materials, and light sources (must be electric) you may foresee needing. The world is your pumpkin—if you have wild visions of carving the Leaning Tower of Zucca, you may bring additional (uncarved) gourds to suit your needs, but you must use the pumpkin provided by the Center for Architecture as well. All carving must take place at the Center for Architecture! Feel free to contact Camila Schaulsohn, cschaulsohn@aiany.org, and Katie Mullen, kmullen@aiany.org with any questions.
